Class 1

9:30 AM - 12:30 PM EST

Prescriptions Without Pills: For Relief from Depression, Anger, Anxiety and More

Almost all psychotherapy clients experience various degrees of depression, anger, and anxiety. This webinar offers a new way of understanding the causes and cures of these negative emotional states. "Bump theory," illustrated by Dr. Heitler's "Hand Map," clarifies the sources of these feelings. It also suggests strategies therapists can use to help their clients exit from these states and emerge back into the realm of well-being. The webinar will go beyond teaching about the techniques to offer opportunities to practice them. The goal is for participants to feel comfortable using them immediately in their clinical work.

(Trainer - Susan Heitler, PhD, is a distinguished clinical psychologist and accomplished author. Her six books, including the seminal work 'From Conflict to Resolution: Skills and Strategies for Individual, Couple, and Family Therapy' have contributed significantly to the field of psychotherapy, especially by creating a conceptual map for integrative treatment and by clarifying the principles of win-win conflict resolution. Dr. Heitler has conducted workshops across the United States and internationally including in the Middle East, Australia, China, and Europe. Close to 2 million viewers have watched her TEDx talk on lifting depression. Her popular Psychology Today blog, “Resolution, Not Conflict”, has amassed over 26 million reads."

In 2016, she delivered the keynote address at the inaugural meeting of the Pan-Arab Psychological Association in Beirut, presenting a talk titled "Conflict Resolution: My Way, No MY Way." )
